Reacting to news reports that the Congress party in its plenary session is likely to demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation probe against the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh links to terror attacks organised by the radical Hindu organisations, BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that this was just a desperate attempt by the United Progressive Alliance government and the Congress party to divert the attention from the main issue of corruption.

The Congress calls upon the government to investigate the role of the RSS and all like-minded organisations in terror attack, states the draft political resolution of the party that
is likely to be passed at the All India Congress Committee plenary session that is being held in Burari in northwest Delhi.

"This is an attempt to bail out the corrupt the Congress party that has witnessed one of the biggest scams since independence. The 2G spectrum scam that has resulted in loss of 1Rs 1.76 lakh crore to the country's exchequer," Naqvi told rediff.com on Sunday.

The BJP had launched a scathing attack on Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi after the disclosure by WikiLeaks that he had told US Ambassador Timothy Roemer that the Hindu terror groups posed a bigger threat to India than the Laskar-e-Tayiba.
