Accusing Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and some of his ministers of being involved in corruption, opposition Congress on Thursday promised a probe against him and others if voted to power in the coming assembly polls.

"Chief Minister Narendra Modi and some of his ministers are involved in as many as 17 scams," Congress leader Narhari Amin alleged.

Amin was here to announce the party's 12th and final point of 'Gujarat People Development Vision-2012' ahead of the Assembly polls of December.

"Modi is avoiding appointing a Lokayukta as he is afraid that the Lokayukta will expose the scams... therefore the state government has moved the Supreme Court challenging high court's ruling on Justice R A Mehta's appointment as the Lokayukta," he said.

Amin also said that if the Congress comes to power, it will withdraw the petition.
