The focal point of the Telangana issue has shifted to Delhi with the arrival of Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy in the capital on Wednesday.

Pranab Mukherjee and P Chidambaram have jointly taken responsbility to bring peace to Andhra and ensure that nothing untoward happens. Both Pranab and Chidambaram had evolved a strategy to impress upon Congress MPs to remain calm, till Thursday's meeting with political parties are done.

Ahmed Patel and Gulam Nabi Azad are also likely to be fielded to restore confidence in the Andhra Congress MPs' minds.

Governor ESL Narasimhan has series of meetings on Thursday in Delhi, similarly Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddyhas meetings scheduled with Sonia
Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

The All India Congress Committee on Tuesday issued gag order to Andhra MPs including those from Telangana region, asking them not to rush to media with provocative comments.

Chidambaram is believed to have impressed upon the AICC that threats of the Telegu Desam Party, Telangana Rashtriya Samiti and Bharatiya Janata Party to boycott Thursday's meeting would further create tensions. Hence, the AICC's intervention to rein in AP Congress MPs was needed.

Insiders claim that Chidambaram also spoke to Sonia Gandhi on these lines and impressed upon her for brining in law and order under contol.

The Home Minister in his press meet openly appealed to TRS and BJP to join Thursday's discussions.
