The Central Vigilance Commission has found alleged irregularities in several Commonwealth Games related works being carried out by civic and construction agencies in Delhi.

The anti-graft watchdog, through its Chief Technical Examiner's Wing, made an assessment of such works and found irregularities in 14 construction projects, official sources said on Wednesday.

"We have found corruption in many Games-related construction projects. After thorough examination of the assessment made by our officials, we will be writing to the concerned civic agencies to probe them," a senior CVC official said.

The official said they will be re-examining all the tenders and procurement process related to the Games projects.

Chief Vigilance Commissioner Pratyush Sinha had earlier said the watchdog had kept all the projects under its scanner following complaints of alleged large-scale corruption.

"Apart from expeditiously attending to complaints relating to the Games, the Commission, through its Chief Technical Examiner's Wing, was already keeping a close watch on all the contracts and works undertaken for the Commonwealth Games," Sinha had said.

The CVC decision came following complaints alleging discrepancies in the work being undertaken by civic agencies like Municipal Corporation of Delhi, New Delhi Municipal Council, Delhi Development Authority and Central Public Works Department, among others.
