A first-of-its-kind anti-terror academy will come up in New Delhi to keep detectives ahead of the terrorists. Vicky Nanjappa reports.
The brainchild of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the academy will train police officers and intelligence agents on various aspects of the fight against terror.
Senior officials told Rediff.com that Doval -- a former director of the Intelligence Bureau -- believes that unless sleuths are trained to decode encrypted messages exchanged by the terrorists, in forensic analysis, and investigating cyber crimes, it will be difficult to win the war on terror.
The academy, which is likely to be operational in six months, will also have a think-tank to guide anti-terror policy.
Specialists from the United States and Israel will train sleuths on analysing CCTV footage and intelligence, decoding data and sharing information with other nations.
