Cold wave conditions have intensified in northern India.

After two days of respite, Delhi-ites woke up to a foggy morning on Wednesday. In some parts of the capital visibility was down to 100 metres early in the morning.

Air traffic was temporarily affected.

Several trains were also running late, in certain cases up to 24 hours. The worst affected were the trains coming to Delhi from the northern and eastern parts of the country, railway sources said.

The higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal and Jammu and Kashmir received fresh spells of snow.
