The Central Government on Tuesday reconstituted the Central Board of Film Certification midway through the term.
The Centre removed 18 of the 21 members and completely reconstituted the Chennai and Hyderabad advisory panels.
Eighteen faces have been inducted in the board, which is headed by film actress Sharmila Tagore.
"More are to follow," a senior official in the information and broadcasting ministry said.
Earlier, Anupam Kher was unceremoniously sacked as the censor board chief.
