The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday quizzed the wife of Congress legislator Malkhan Singh in connection with the alleged abduction of nurse Bhanwari Devi even as it continued the questioning of sacked Rajasthan Minister Mahipal Maderna, arrested last week in the case.
Malkhan's wife Kamala Visnoi was asked to appear for questioning at the circuit house in Jodhpur before the CBI sleuths, sources said.
Maderna was arrested on Friday in Jodhpur by the CBI along with Parasram Bishnoi, the brother of Malkhan Singh, hours after it filed a charge-sheet against three other arrested accused.
He was sent to CBI custody till December 9 by the Jodhpur court.
A day after Maderna's arrest, CBI officials had alleged that they were being threatened.
Maderna was taken to Delhi on Sunday for further questioning in the case as the agency feared a law and order situation in Jodhpur.
Meanwhile, the Rajasthan high court has stayed the permission of a lower court to conduct a voice test on accused Sohan Lal Bishnoi to verify the authenticity of some audio clips related to Bhanwari.
The clips have voices of Sohan Lal and another accused Shahbuddin, both currently under judicial custody.
Shahbuddin, Baldev and Sohanlal have been chargesheeted by the agency.
The CBI has so far questioned several people including Malkhan Singh, his brother and sister, Mahipal Maderna's wife Leela Maderna and others.
