A junior lawyer Aditya, allegedly facing charges of colluding with other accused in cash-for-bail case, on Thursday surrendered before a Anti-Corruption Bureau court in Hyderabad.
Aditya, one of the accused in cash-for-bail case involving former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy, surrendered in the court and was later sent to judicial remand till August 2.
He was working with E Umamaheshwar Rao, the defence lawyer of mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy.
A history-sheeter, Yadagiri -- another accused arrested along with others -- had confessed during his custodial interrogation that he gave Rs 1 crore to Aditya.
The ACB recently questioned senior advocate E Umamaheshwar Rao in connection with the case. He is one of the counsels for mining baron and former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy, the key accused in Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) case.
On the basis of confessional statement of Yadagiri that he also met Janardhan Reddy's relatives at the advocate's office, Umamaheshwar Rao was summoned and grilled in the case.
Aditya is eighth person to be arrested in the case. So far three serving judges and four others, including a retired judge T V Chalapathi Rao, were arrested and they are in judicial custody in connection with the case.Rs 20 crore! The price Janardhan Reddy paid to buy bail
