The India-Pakistan talks on starting a bus service between Srinagar and Muzzafarabad were deadlocked on the second day of negotiations on Wednesday, with both sides refusing to budge from their stated positions on the issue.
The Pakistani side is insisting that the bus service should be exclusively for the Kashmiri people and the passengers should not be required to carry any travel documents, while the Indian side wants the service to be open to all.
The Indian side also wants passengers to carry relevant travel documents apart from their visas and other papers.
When contacted, all that the senior officials of the Ministry of Surface Transport said was that some officials of the Pakistan delegation met them in the morning.
Reporters were told that the Ministry of External Affairs will issue a press release later in the evening.
