At least 28 people, including two women, were killed and 17 injured on Monday when a bus fell into a deep gorge in Chitai area of Almora district in Uttaranchal, a senior police officer said.
The Kumaon Motor Operators Union bus was on its way from Pithoragarh to Haldwani in Nainital district, Almora Superintendent of Police Deepak Jyoti Ghildiyal said.
The bus was carrying around 45 passengers.
The injured were admitted to the base hospital in Almora.
