Poaching case accused surrenders

Dayal Singh, a co-accused in the black buck hunting case, surrendered on Wednesday, even as three others were granted bail at the end of their police remand.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Sudhir Jiwan granted bail to Balwan Singh, Mohammad Ayub Khan and Shashi Singh, who had surrendered before the Jhajjar police and were remanded to police custody on Tuesday.

The prime accused in the case, former India cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, is already out on bail.

With Dayal Singh's surrender, six of the eight accused in the alleged June 3 hunting of a black buck and two rabbits near a wildlife sanctuary in Jhajjar have given themselves up.

Dayal Singh is Shashi Singh's driver.

Police are now on the lookout for Karam Singh and Daya Suddin, who are named in the June 5 first information report.

If found guilty, the accused face a jail term of up to seven years and a fine of Rs 25,000.
