“One unmanned Pakistani boat was today seized by the BSF personnel at BOP (border out-post) 1162 near Harami Nala,” a senior BSF official said.
From the articles found inside, it appeared to be a fishing boat, the official said, adding that no arms or ammunition were found.
However, BSF had stepped up patrolling in the entire area to make sure there was no infiltration bid, he said.
Harami Nala is a water channel in a marshy area along the international border which is accessible from Pakistani side. The topography makes it difficult for security personnel to react swiftly to infiltration bids.
Last December, BSF had found three abandoned Pakistani boats in the area.
In the last one month, three Pakistani nationals who had crossed the border were caught in separate incidents in the Kutch district.
