The son of a policeman, Amol Ghuge, is among six people who have been arrested for the murder of Afzal Beg, 22, in Mumbai.
Beg was mercilessly beaten up by six men, who also try to run him over at Malad in suburban Mumbai. The incident has been caught on CCTV camera. The victim, who was hospitalised after the thrashing, died on Tuesday evening.
Reports say Beg and his friend were riding a motorcycle when the attackers stopped them and an argument began.
Ghuge is seen dragging Beg off the bike and hitting him.
The police say Beg was beaten till he stopped moving. The attackers then left him and ran away.
Hours later, the police arrived after a call and took Beg to the hospital.
