A leopard which had wandered inside a bungalow complex at a house in Borivli was chased away by the dog of the house. In CCTV obtained from outside the bungalow, the leopard can be seen slinking away after being barked at by the house pet.
The house is near the boundary of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, one of the largest pockets of forest enclosed within a city.
The leopard, apparently hungry, was tying to find a way on the other side of the gate where the dog was already sleeping, and was seen pawing the grill in the footage.
But it was startled when the sleeping dog suddenly got up and started barking ferociously. It can be seen skulking away at the end of the video.
It is common for leopards in the surrounding areas to venture out of the forest for food during the monsoons.
