Buoyed up by Janata Dal (United)-Bharatiya Janata Party alliance's victory in neighbouring Bihar, BJP's West Bengal unit said on Tuesday the state would go the Bihar way if the coming assembly election is held in a free and fair manner under the President's Rule.

The result of the just-concluded Bihar assembly poll clearly indicates that if election is held in a free and fair manner under the central rule in West Bengal too, Trinamool Congress-BJP combine would capture power under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, General Secretary of West Bengal unit Rahul Sinha told reporters in Kolkata.

He said a state BJP delegation, led by the party's central observer Rajnath Singh, would urge President A P J Abdul Kalam early in December that the coming assembly election in West Bengal be held under central rule.
