The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday flayed Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf for saying that it had engineered communal riots in Gujarat.
"Pakistan is accusing us of engineering violence. What about the condition of minorities and others in that country, where they enjoy no right to live," asked BJP president Venkaiah Naidu.
Before teaching India about secularism, Pakistan should introspect about the condition of its Hindus and other minorities, he said.
He was speaking at a function organised by the Delhi unit of the BJP.
On domestic issues, he brushed aside accusations that the BJP was pursuing a Hindutva agenda.
Toeing Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani's line, he termed Hinduism as a noble principle and a progressive religion. "Hindutva is not aggressive as it is not a religion but a way of life," he said.
