Stating that the Bharatiya Janata Party will not project anyone as its chief-ministerial candidate in the upcoming assembly polls in Maharashtra, a senior leader on Tuesday said the party will contest the elections in alliance with the Shiv Sena.

"The party has never projected anybody as the chief- ministerial candidate in the past elections and in the coming polls also it will not do so," General Secretary Gopinath Munde told mediapersons at the State BJP office in Bhopal.

"Neither BJP nor Shiv Sena will project anyone as the chief-ministerial candidate and the issue will be sort out after the elections," Munde said.

The party will have a truck with Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, but not ally with Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, he clarified.

When asked about Rahul Mahajan, he said the doors of the BJP are open for him, but he could join the party only after settlement of court cases against him.

To a query on Praveen Mahajan's proposed book, he said that he will comment on it only after it's release.

Referring to Kasab's confession, he said that at this stage it is difficult for anyone to guess the motive behind it but said it was the most deadly attack since independence which could also be a strategic conspiracy against the nation.

"Despite this, the Centre was unable to decide for quite a long time that which agency should probe the attack, CBI, Maharashtra Police or the Railway Police," he said, criticising the Central government on the issue.
