The Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to skip the all party meeting on Lokpal convened by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on July 3, a party source has said.

The source added that the party had taken a  plea that the all-party meet can be held only after the United Progressive Alliance-2 government introduces the Lokpal Bill in Parliament.

Two senior BJP leaders are in touch with smaller parties to work out a larger plan of action on the Lokpal Bill.

The BJP is also trying to persuade All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader Jayalalitha through its senior leader Sushma Swaraj to skip the meet.

The BJP leadership is also waiting for the return of Arun Jaitley from the United States on Saturday, to discuss the Lokpal draft and make detailed notes for the BJP meeting to be held in Delhi on Sunday.
