"BJP mein himmat nahin hai maafi mangne ki"(BJP lacks courage to apologise)”, the Janata Dal-United leader told mediapersons in Patna. He was reacting to BJP chief Rajnath Singh’s statement that their party was ready to apologise to Muslims for their ‘mistake’.
“The BJP leaders are trying to fool the people by making such statements,” Kumar said, adding “the media should dismiss such statements”.
“What happened in Gujarat in 2002 was not merely a mistake but a deliberate act,” the chief minister, whose party broke a 17-year-old alliance with the BJP last year.
