BJP alleges Maya's Rs 5,000 cr land scam in Noida

The Uttar Pradesh wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party will call on state Governor B L Joshi on June 1 to demand a 'high-level enquiry' against the Mayawati government in connection with what they alleged was a 'Rs 5,000 crore land scam in Greater Noida.'

"The Noida farm house scheme was one of the major scams of the Mayawati government. We have sufficient evidence to prove the shady role of the state government in these allotments; and armed with all that we propose to take a delegation to the state Governor, seeking his intervention to order a probe into the scam," BJP national secretary Kirit Somaiya told mediapersons ion Lucknow.

He also released a CD to highlight the alleged 100 scams committed during the four years of Mayawati rule in the Uttar Pradesh. The CD contains an 11-minute documentary on Mayawati government's scams on which the party had earlier released a booklet.

Somaiya alleged that the Mayawati government acquired over 1 crore square feet land under the pretext of industrial development in Dostpur-Mangrauli village in Noida.

Thereafter, the acquired land was discreetly converted into farm houses that were allotted to a chosen few including some 'non-existent' companies.

He claimed, "We have information about two such non existent and 'benami' organisations -- Kunal Infratech Private Limited, Agra, and Great Value Build Well Private Limited, New Delhi."

According to him, "these two organisations came into being barely a few months before the allotment, that was made only after a fat underhand payment."

He said, "We would bring out the names of many more such organisations and individual beneficiaries very soon."
