Don't use objects that are party symbols: Bihar EC

The Election Commission on Friday said it will not use lanterns (the Rashtriya Janata Dal's election symbol) for official work during the upcoming assembly polls in Bihar.

"The EC has directed to make full arrangement for proper electrical lightning at polling booths on polling" an official said.

Bihar Chief Electoral Officer N K Sinha, in a letter to 38 district magistrates, instructed them to make suitable lighting arrangements.

Sinha further said that EC was against of use of any item, which happens to be symbol of a political party taking part in polls.
