Patna woman gang-raped on way to hospital

An ailing two-year old boy died as his mother was gang-raped while she was on the way to a hospital to get medicine for the child, police said in Patna.

The woman had on Monday lodged a complaint at the Danapur police station in Patna.

Sub-divisional Police Officer Mohammed Hasnain told PTI on Tuesday that five drunken men had forced her at gunpoint to go to a house at Sultanpur and raped her on Sunday night.

"The miscreants let me off after two hours. When I reached home, I found my son dead," the woman said in the complaint.

Of the five, one had been taken into custody. Efforts are on to arrest the others, Hasnain said.
