Bihar ex-minister convicted of murder

A fast track court in Bihar's Nawada district on Tuesday convicted a former Bihar minister, Aditya Singhand, and three others of murder.

The court will pronounce the quantum of punishment on Wednesday, court sources said.

Singh, a known bahubali (strongman), faces several criminal cases including murder, kidnapping and extortion. He is currently lodged in a jail.

Several criminal politicians have been convicted in Bihar thanks to the speedy trial process started by the Nitish Kumar government.

According to official sources, over 15,000 criminals were convicted by the fast tracxk courts.
