A sandal was hurled at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during an election meeting at Lauria in Bettiah district on Friday.
Police officials in Bettiah told
rediff.com that the footwear missed hitting the chief minister, and that it was flung by a local resident to protest the Janata Dal-United candidate's
nomination.
This is the first such incident during the ongoing assembly election campaign in Bihar.
Kumar, however, played down the incident.
A few days ago, it was reported that some demonstrators waved their sandals at Nitish Kumar during an election rally in Kosi belt to express their anger at the lack of development in the area.
