Bihar minister's son 'kidnapped'

Bihar's small irrigation minister Dinesh Prasad Kushwaha's 35-year-old son Ajay Kushwaha is suspected to be kidnapped from Muzaffarpur district, the police said on Friday. A police case of missing was lodged in Mithanpura police station in Muzaffarpur by the minister's family.

"A missing case has been lodged by the family of Ajay Kushwaha, suspected to be kidnapped," a police official said.

Dinesh Prasad Kushwaha told rediff.com

over telephone that his son Ajay Kushwaha went missing on Thursday after he went out but did not return. "It can be a case of kidnapping, I suspect," he said.

A family friend close to him said that the Maoists threatened the minister recently.

Police in Muzaffarpur has begun investigation to recover the minister's son.
