Maoists shot dead six villagers and kidnapped at least seven others in Bihar's Munger district in the wee hours of Saturday, the police said.
More than 70 armed Maoists posing as policemen attacked Bangalwa Kareli village under Dharhara police station in Munger, a police official said.
"It appeared that Maoists attack was to avenge villagers for opposing them. The incident took place in a village where some people were branded as police informers by Maoists," a district police official told rediff.com
