A Central Reserve Police Force jawan was fatally injured on Monday in a landmine blast by Naxalites in Gaya district of Bihar, a senior police official said.
The jawan, Sanjeev Kumar Singh, who sustained injuries in the blast in Barha village under Dumaria police station succumbed to injuries on way to a government hospital in Gaya town, Director General of Police Neelmani said.
The ultras detonated the landmine after they were trapped by advancing security forces following an encounter between the two sides after the area was cordoned off, he said, adding the troops were camping there as a precautionary measure.
