A group of nearly 15-20 unidentified persons on Monday attacked the residence of Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari in suburban Mumbai.
Tiwari's spokesman Shashikant Singh said the mob gathered near Tiwari's bungalow at approximately 9 pm at MHADA in Four Bungalows area and told his staff they wanted to meet the actor.
"When they were told that Tiwari was out of town, they started pelting stones. They demanded that the Bhojpuri actor shift out of Mumbai to his native place," Singh said.
The mob claimed that Tiwari had made a statement against the Shiv Sena, but Tiwari has denied making any such comment.
A complaint has been lodged with the Versova police, he said.
The police confirmed the incident but refused to comment on which group might have been behind the incident.
