He may be the prime minister of India and might be quite liked on Twitter. But, there’s one thing that Congress president Sonia Gandhi has that Prime Minister Narendra Modi doesn’t.

A Right to Information query has revealed that the Congress president’s official residence -- 10, Janpath -- is larger than PM Modi’s official residence at 7 RCR.

It’s a hard fact to digest, but it’s true. The Gandhi residence is spread over 15,181 sq metre while the PM’s, is smaller at 14,101 sq m, according to the central public works department. The information was given in response to an RTI application by Dev Ashish Bhattacharya.

However, Rashtrapati Bhavan beats all other official residences as it is spread over 320 acres and is one of the largest properties for a head of state anywhere in the world. The vice president’s residence at 6 Maulana Azad Road covers 26,333.49 sq m.

Meanwhile, Sonia's son and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has been allotted a bungalow at 12, Tughlak Lane, which is 5,022.58 square metre in size.

Interestingly, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who is not a Member of Parliament, has a bungalow allotted to her at 35, Lodhi Estate, which spans around 2,765.18 square metre.
