Crime branch officials said Tejpal's elder daughter Tiya was questioned for over two hours at the crime branch office at Dona Paula. Tiya has been quoted by the victim woman in the email which she had sent to magazine’s former Managing Editor Shoma
Chaudhury. Tejpal’s daughter was reportedly informed about the incident by the victim.
Crime branch officials said Tiya was called to corroborate some facts which were mentioned by the victim and also spelt out by Tejpal during his interrogation.
Meanwhile, three witnesses in this case would be deposing before the magistrate on Friday while Chaudhury would depose before magistrate on Saturday to record their statements.
Tejpal is currently undergoing six-day police custody which would expire on Saturday. Crime branch officials said they will seek an extension of the 50-year-old Tehelka founder's custody by another eight days.
Tejpal was arrested in Goa four days ago and slapped with the charge of rape of his journalist colleague.
