Assam: 2 paramilitary personnel commit suicide

Two paramilitary force personnel allegedly committed suicide in Dhubri and Chirang districts of Assam on Saturday.

A bullet-ridden body of a Central Reserve Police Force trooper posted at Bengtol in Chirang district of Assam was spotted by his colleagues in the camp on Saturday morning.

He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Bangaigaon where he succumbed to injuries.

The jawan, identified as B Ghose from West Bengal, is suspected to have shot himself with his service weapon..

In another incident, a Border Security Force trooper posted at the Panbari base of the force in Dhubri district of Assam shot himself dead.

Official sources said the BSF man, Head Constable Mohan Lal (32), hailed from Jaipur in Rajasthan.

Lal was on duty at the BSF's base hospital inside the Panbari Camp around noon on Saturday when he allegedly shot himself with his service rifle. He died on the spot.

The cause of his alleged suicide is yet to be ascertained.

He had rejoined duty at the BSF's Panbari Camp on Friday after spending a two-month leave at his native place.
