The Shiv Sena today said it had not yet received a copy of the non-bailable arrest warrant issued by a Bihar court against party supremo Bal Thackeray for allegedly making uncharitable and inflammatory remarks against Biharis in party mouthpiece Saamana.
"We have not received the warrant. We have learnt of the development through media," Sena spokesperson Neelam Gorhe said.
"The party will comment on the issue only after receiving and going through the copy," Gorhe said.
Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate (Bhojpur) Rakesh Pati Tiwari yesterday ordered issuance of the warrant after Thackeray failed to appear before him in compliance with his July 7 order on a court complaint filed by advocate Rajesh Kumar Singh in 2008 accusing the Sena leader of making the comments.
