For the first time in recent years, all three service chiefs shared the podium and took the opportunity to call for forging greater coordination among Army, Air Force and Navy saying all future wars would demand extraordinary synergy the three divisions.

The chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee and Naval Chief Admiral Madhvendra Singh said Indian armed forces would have to fine tune tactics of precision standoff attacks. Along with the current modernisation drive in the armed forces, care has to be taken to change the attitude of the men who manned the machines.

"We have to go in for drastic changes in the attitude of men in uniform to develop among them leadership qualities and means to imbibe futuristic technology," he said.
