Panic gripped border belt of Akhnoor sector in Jammu when toy model of a Remotely Piloted Vehicle crashed in a field, police said on Saturday.

The RPV (aero model) fell into the agriculture fields in Nandpur border hamlet, five km from Indo-Pak border, last evening, they said.

It was first detected by some children playing in the field and triggered panic in the area.

During investigations a camera was found attached to the RPV with pictures related to the border belt and security bunkers, making it clear that the device belonged to the  Army.

"It is toy model, which is being kept by the units for training, etc. It is not a big thing," Defence Public Relations Officer Colonel R K Palta said.
