Army foils infiltration bid in north Kashmir; 4 militants killed

The army foiled an infiltration bid in Keran sector of Kupwara district in north Kashmir on Friday night, killing four more militants. 

Four militants were killed in the area of Fateh Gali, 25 km west of Shalla Batu, which has been the scene of an encounter since September 23 between a large group of militants and army personnel, said a defence spokesperson.

The spokesman said four AK-47 rifles and four pistols have been recovered. 

"The operation is still in progress," he added.

On Friday, army troopers had foiled another infiltration bid and killed two militants in Gujjartar area near Keran sector.
