In a freak accident, 11 bus passengers were electrocuted when a live high-tension wire fell on a bus in Jammalamadugu in Cuddapah district on Wednesday, official sources said.
Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation spokesman Mohan Murthy told rediff.com that 22 other passengers and bus crew sustained only minor injuries and were shifted immediately to nearby government hospitals.
The villagers and police officials helped in the rescue and relief operations.
On receiving information, RTC executive director and regional manager at Cuddapah rushed to the spot, the spokesman added.
