The meeting that began in the morning at 10.30 continued till evening.
Union Ministers A K Antony, P Chidambaram and V Narayanasamy, who were busy with their official engagements, joined the meeting in the evening.
The GoM had a meeting with central departments secretaries of HRD, health, water resources, power, coal, petroleum and natural gas, home, Finance and Planning Commission.
The GoM will meet again on November 14 to discuss the issue with Union ministry secretary-level officers of law, railway, finance and personnel department.
