Barely a day after a showdown with the Bharatiya Janata Party's central leadership, former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa finds himself in more trouble.

An FIR has been registered against him by the Lokayukta police in connection with a housing scam.

The timing of this case is interesting as the complaint was lodged by Vinod Kumar, an advocate, six months ago. It was alleged that there were irregularities in an allotment by the housing board.

The Lokayukta police have filed a case under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code amounting to cheating.

According to the complainant, Yeddyurappa's daughter Aruna Devi had gotten four sites sanctioned under the quota for journalists and gave it away to her staff. She influenced her father, who was then the CM, to sanction these sites in the name of her staff. She also forged documents to show that her staff members were indeed journalists, the complainant alleged.

After the sites were sanctioned, she influenced her staff to transfer the sites into her name and then sold it off for a much higher rate.
