When Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam was examining witnesses, a jail officer entered the court and whispered something in his ear. Nikam then requested the court to allow Kasab to return to his cell.
However, he did not assign any reason. Judge M L Tahaliyani then asked Kasab to leave immediately. Nikam refused to divulge why Kasab was sent back to his cell but sources said he has not been keeping well and has to undergo tests periodically.
Kasab has been wearing a sweater since the last few days as he has been suffering from fever and is undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, prosecutor Nikam told mediapersons outside the court that he would try to conclude examination of witnesses latest by December 15.
To a query, he said there were about eight to ten witnesses left for examination
