Outlawed Communist Party of India-Maoist has said that Union Home Minister P Chidambaram's latest statement has vindicated its stand that the central government was not at all serious and sincere about the formation of Telangana state.

Condemning the latest statement of home minister, CPI-Maoist politburo and central committee member M Koteshwara Rao alias Kishenji told rediff.com over phone that it was once again proved that the Nehru family was never in favour of formation of Telangana state and the earlier statement of the home minister was an attempt to hoodwink the people of the region.

"The mafia of wealthy people, industrialists and capitals of Andhra and Rayala Seema region have forced the Congress leadership to oppose Telangana creating a fear in their mind that the Congress party will be divided. The mafia is opposing Telangana because their wealth is in Hyderabad," he said.

Calling a 48-hour strike in Telangana region from Thursday, Kishenji said that Maoists will support the JAC of TRS, Congress and other parties only if they resign from their seats in assembly and Parliament and go to the villages to fight along side the people.

"I am also appealing to the students and youth of Telangana to continue their struggle till Telangana state is formed," he said.

But he told the agitators not to target the ordinary people of Andhra and Rayala Seema who had come to Telangana in search of jobs and have been staying there for along time.

"Formation of Telangana state will not and should not divide the people of the three regions," he said.
