A group of students and professors from various universities in Andhra Pradesh have warned the state government not to renege on the Telangana promise.
The students also said they would start agitation all over again if the state government does not initiate the Telangana process in three days.
Osmania University students told rediff.com that they are not "bothered about the resignation drama". "Our only concern is statehood and that has to be given at any cost." Vamshi, a student at the campus, said they are prepared to face any eventuality and will not rest unless and until Telangana is formed with Hyderabad as its capital.
Lateef Mohammad Khan, another leader, said they will not call of their agitation even if KCR himself asks them to go slow in the wake of the latest developments.
"This is not KCR's movement anymore. It is a peoples' movement and we will have the final say in it," said Khan.
Students are also planning a visit to to Parliament to press for their demand. They will intensify their protest in Hyderabad, and say that they have the support of teachers, intellectuals and professors in their battle.
Some students asked, "Why is so much importance being attached to the resignations of the MLAs. Look at our movement and look at the lives that have been lost. They have not made any such sacrifice."
