Rosaiah's political googly stuns Naidu

In a politically daring statement, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah said that he would quit his post if the main opposition Telugu Desam party got even one seat more than his party, the Congress. 

Over 57 lakh voters of Hyderabad will cast their votes on Monday to elect 150 members of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

Throwing down the challenge at Leader of Opposition and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu at a news conference on Sunday, Rosaiah said th TDP failed to get any response from the people of the state capital during the GHMC campaign.

"If TDP gets even one corporator more than the Congress, I will immediately send my resignation to Raj Bhavan and the Congress high command," he said.

Rosaiah asked Naidu to reply by tomorrow whether he was accepting the challenge.

When the reporters asked what he wants Naidu to do if the Congress wins more seats, the chief minister said, "Let Naidu accept the challenge first."

Rosaiah was replying to Naidu's charges that the Congress government was on the payroll of controversial mine owner and Karnataka minister Galli Janardhan Reddy.
