The Andhra Pradesh government has finally acted against Additional Director General of Police. Vivek Dubey and ordered him to go on leave for a month as the investigations were on against him for sending the constables to Delhi to work as domestic help with his family.

Vivek Dubey's trouble started last month when P Murlinath, a constable of state armed reserve force, was found dead near Gawalior when he was on his way back to Hyderabad after having worked at Dubey's family residence in Noida.

Murlinath was one of the constables sent at behest of Dubey to work at his residence in violation of the government order not to use the constables at the homes of the senior officers as orderlies

The government has appointed Umesh Kumar as the new head of the anti terrorist force OCTOPUS relieving Vivek Dubey of his responsibilities. Dubey has also bee relieved of his other responsibility as the DG, logistics and provision.

Dubey has been ordered to go on leave at a time when Madhya Pradesh police was all set to question Dubey and his wife about the mysterious death of Murlinath, who was found dead near the rail tracks. The SIM card of his mobile was also missing.

Giving a new twist to the entire episode a team of Central Crime Station of Hyderabad police has given a clean chit to Dubey saying Murlinath's death was not result of any harassment or violence but he died of epilepsy attack.

The state government took action against Dubey after a three-member high level team probed the matter. The committee comprising of the Chief Secretary A Ramakant Reddy, Home Secretary, Ajay Misra and the Director General of Police, SSP Yadav was ordered by the Chief Minister to look in to the continuation of orderly system in violation of the government orders passed in 2005. It has come to the light that as many as 30 constables were sent one after the other to work for Dubey's family during last few years.
