Guess how many countries Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelled to in 2015?

In 2015, Modi, who is known for his foreign travels, made his way to 23 countries, making him one of the most travelled leaders of Asian countries.

The Indian PM shares this honour with Japanese PM Shinzo Abe.

Interestingly, the number of countries visited by Modi and Abe was more than twice the number visited by US President Barack Obama.

According to a report published by Bloomberg, Chinese President Xi Jinping visited 14 countries and spent 42 days outside the nation. His travels took him to the United States, where his visit was overshadowed by Pope Francis. However, he scored a hit in the United Kingdom with a ride down Pall Mall with the Queen in a state carriage.

Jinping also made his way to Paris for the important climate talks, but missed out when he failed to turn up at the Bataclan concert hall to pay tribute to the victims of last month’s terrorist attacks, unlike Abe or Obama.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visits took him to the United Arab Emirates in August where the two countries agreed to create a $75 billion fund to invest in Indian infrastructure. He also visited China.

By comparison, Obama visited only 11 other countries in 2015. He made five international trips during the year, the longest of which was last month to Turkey, the Philippines and Malaysia for three different summits.
