After his friend Amitabh Bachchan became Gujarat's brand ambassador, expelled Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh on Tuesday said Chief Minister Narendra Modi could be "loved or hated but not ignored".
"The civil society can boycott Modi's communal politics but Gujarat's elected and constitutional chief minister can't be ignored by people such as Manmohan Singh, P Chidambaram, Mukesh Ambani and Lalit Modi even if they wish to do so," Amar Singh wrote in his blog .
"Bravo Narendra bhai," he added, saying Modi could be loved or hated but cannot be ignored.
Making a mention of Modi's speech at the recently held internal security meet where he praised the home minister and the prime minister, Amar Singh wrote: "Modi's praise and hatred are both worrisome. I am worried that his praise does not colour the secular face of the government with communalism the way it happened with Amitabh Bachchan when he decided to promote Gujarat."
Singh said Modi was controversial but at the same timewas a good administrator and the difference between the two facets of his personality should be kept in mind.
