Your mobiles & iPods may cause allergies

It is not just pollen that may cause allergies, for your cell phones and iPods also play a key role in accelerating your seasonal miseries, says an expert.

Todd Resengart, chief of cardiothoracic surgery at Stony Brook University, said that in addition to pollen-producing allergies, gadgets like cell phones and iPods in particular can affect the users allergic to certain metals and minerals used in manufacturing.

Nickel, commonly found in phone batteries, is one of the leading causes of skin allergies and can also lead to 'contact dermatitis', reports Wired News.

Moreover, excessive use of cell phones and iPods may give rise to skin bumps or rashes in sensitive people.
