Akash, the indigenously developed medium-range surface-to-air missile, was on Monday test-fired from the integrated test range at Chandipur-on-sea, 15 km from Balasore, defence sources said.
The sophisticated multi-target missile, which was fired from a mobile launcher at around 1300 IST, hit a target supported by the pilotless target aircraft 'Lakshya', they said.
