AFP sues Google for copyright violation

International news agency Agence France-Presse has sued Google Inc for copyright infringement, according to media report

Paris-headquartered AFP filed a suit in a Washington court seeking damages of at least $17.5 million and an
interdiction on the publication of its text and photos without prior agreement.

AFP has accused Google of posting its headlines, news summaries and photographs without permission.
