Bharatiya Janata Party leader L K Advani's anti-corruption rally at Bangalore has been cancelled. The yatra will still pass through Mangalore and Udupi as per schedule.

No official reason for the cancellation of the rally has been given.

According to sources, the rally was cancelled as most BJP ministers in the state are facing major corruption charges.

Even though former state chief minister B S Yeddyurappa was arrested on corruption charges last Saturday, there were no plans to cancel the rally then. But even state Home Minister R Ashok is facing corruption charges now.

BJP leaders felt that it would not be right to hold Advani's much-hyped yatra, which is against corruption, in Bangalore at such a juncture. Advani will now head directly to Mangalore and Udupi in coastal Karnataka.
